Fiji enjoys a tropical climate, with warm and pleasant temperature throughout the year - average 72oF in the mild, dry season of May to October, and 78.5oF in the warm, wetter season of November to April.

Different islands in Fiji experience micro climates. The southern coastline (mostly inaccessible rainforest and rugged coastline) experiences a higher rainfall average than the east, northern and westerly coastlines (which is where most people live). Unlike many smaller islands in Fiji, Taveuni has a good fresh water supply due to the rain catchment from the mountainous central ridge.
